its all connected: the united states is moving towards a major military strike against the syria-iran axis with help from turkey and israel. suggestions about the danger of an israeli-turkish conflict in the eastern mediterranean were largely a smokescreen, an attempt at misdirection. the suspension of syria from the arab lague means to legitimise military action against damascus and discrediting the assad government. it is a substitute for a UN security council resolution, since china and russia vetoed that initiative. the so-called ''free syrian army'' is supplied and supervised by the turkish army. the impending strike on syria will be precursor to a massive assault on hizballah and iran sometime after the spring of 2012. already ''free syrian army'' rebels have staged an armed strike against loyalist government forces in syria; in the next few weeks it is likely that turkey, european states or a combination of both will provide them with air support, as was done against lybia. it is possible the turkish army will invade northern syria, under the pretext of creating a ''humanitarian corridor''. the NATO brand is being kept on ice for the main event, this to create the impression that ''syria is not another lybia''. the aim of the current anti-iranian propaganda blitz is to psychologically prepare western and global audiences for the strike against teheran. the united states, saudi arabia and israel will strike against iranian nuclear facilities. the crackdown on occupy in the USA is pre-emptive to prevent the rapid consolidation of an anti-war movement in light of geopolitical dynamics leading towards military conflict in the near east and south central asia; a conflict that will furthermore aggravate current conditions of economic crisis in the USA, the Eurozone and globally. the combination of anti-war sentiment and economic grievances are likely to create the basis for a the emergence of a major anti-government, pro-democracy, anti-war movement in the west in the summer of 2012, it will be centrered in the USA but will find expression in western europe as well. the imposition of ''technocratic'' administrations in italy and greece by the franco-german entente are aimed at securing direct political control of the EU's southern flank. it was in italy and greece that anti-capitalist protests found their most militant expression. the west cannot undertake the task of eliminating the syria-iran axis unless it quells social resistance to austerity in italy and greece. / N2
