"None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
Nothing in this weblog is rational or objective in the sense of Western definitions of those terms. It is deliciously (for me) SUBJECTIVE. My aim is (was?) to give an anti-capitalist political; perhaps with a ''propagandistic'' twist, expression to the "irrational" (or more accurately, the intuitive). The author believes that humans are inherently irrational and that ''rationality'' (in the sense of the term that favours the ''optimal''), is learned socially (see here). Furthermore the author believes that the exploration of the ''irrational'' (intuitive) is a way of becoming aquainted with basic ''primitive'' humanity. For the author, attempting to express irrationality through a ''given'' political ''bias'' (?) (it could have been pro-capitalist or even ''fascistic''), is a way of exploring its intricacies. The author believes the political expression of ''irrationality'' is a way of interacting with ''authentic (primitive) humanism'' while delivering a punch to ''the powers that be''.
Western civilisation does not tolerate ''the heretic''; in postmodern times a premise of Western ideology is the doctrine of the ''rational peasant''. A ''rational actor'' is one who makes the ''optimal'' choice of following without question the political and economic ideologies that agree with The Globalisation of Post-Modern Western Democratic Capitalism. An ''irrational peasant'' is she or he who makes the un-optimal choice of not playing along with the pre-scripted ideological program of The Washington Consensus. Those who make un-optimal non-Globalist choices or who harbour ''un-optimal'' Global-Critical ideologies; like 21st Century Socialism (Hugo Chavez), Islamic Fundamentalism (The Taliban) or The Juste Idea (North Korea) are called ''insane'' or ''terrorist''. From a socioeconomic and political perspective, of course, it is necessary for people to behave (per se) ''rationally''; otherwise it would be impossible to maintain social cohesion. Without social cohesion and social norms that encourage ''optimal'' choices in everyday life, civilisation would ''collapse'' and the result would be ''extinction'' (specially for post-industrial people's). The problem is that POLITICALLY AND BUSINESSWISE what is ''optimal'' for the Globalisers might not be ''optimal'' for The Taliban, the sympathiser of the European Far-Right, the Anonymous Anarchist or members of the Chinese Communist Party Politbureau. Against this state of affairs, I advocate a revolt against rationalism premised upon a radical rejection of modernity.
You will not find ''facts'' here, you will only find INFLAMATORY AND SELECTIVE OPINIONS about ''facts'' and political-economic ''entities'' and ''actors'' with an ANTI-CAPITALIST BIAS. And no, the author is not a ''pseudo-intellectual'' attempting to construct a politics, or a psychotic. In fact, the author is just a humble upholsterer (really) who KNOWS NOTHING, IS NOBODY AND DOES NOT EXIST. The author is happy with this. This weblog has been the subject of much criticism over the years: it has been dismissed as ''subjective'', ''garbage'', ''a hate blog'', ''French'' (?), ''anti-intellectual'', ''pseudo-leftist'', ''petite bourgeoisie'', ''crypto-fascist'', ''anarchoid'', ''communist bastard'', ''a pack of lies'', etc, etc, etc. I've recieved hate comments from many a USA Patriot. But my favourite criticism came from a young man in the United States who called it ''The Onion meets communism''. He claimed I LIED. Ever since I've been fascinated with the idea of a ''Red Onion''.
